10 Percent Cuts
Congress obviously has a problem. They can't do what you and me do at home- balance a budget. I'm not going to explain why balancing a budget is important for our government. I will explain why they don't and why they need the help of the electorate. Billions are spent on campaigns and political parties every election cycle. Every Congressman and woman owes first to their party and those who paid into their campaign and party. So they try to please everyone. The investors that mostly want more government contracts and the people who vote for them. They don't want to offend anyone. That is why no budget cuts are made. No congressman or woman wants to be labeled as cutting spending on certain things and not cutting spending on other things. There will be some organization somewhere, some media somewhere that will effect there chances to get re-elected. So Congress as a whole does nothing, worse than nothing raising the debt limit once again.
There is something we can do, I think we must do. Present a plan. A plan that in 2 or 3 sentences describes a solution to our debt. We share this idea with as many people as possible. The idea is important but not as important as the way we present this idea. Nonpartisan. No one gets credit for this idea. No political labels to this idea. No formal organization submitting this idea. No donations for this idea. Just the most people possible approving an idea and give this idea to Congress. If it happens then the individual leaders in Washington won't get blamed by anyone because they are simply doing the will of the people. If they don't....well, that won't look good for them at all.
The idea. ***** 1. Cut spending 10 percent in everything the government pays for every year until we have a balanced budget. 2. No elected official in Washington gets paid a dime until we get a balanced budget. *****
If you agree with this plan and join our efforts please PRINT this idea, stick as many SIGNATURES on it and MAIL it to your House Representative, Senators, and the President. Thank You from the "The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave"- let's keep it that way.
